To people who may be interested in War Between the States re-enacting, let me relate to you my experience. If you want to extend your family members, then please join. No other past time I have ever done can match the memories I have had in the Palmetto Battalion and the 23Rd SC Volunteers. I have met some of the greatest and friendliest people in the world. We have marched together, fought as a unit together, cried together, drank from the same canteen and eaten together in the rain, night, and sunshine. There are no finer people I would rather be with.
Most of us do not get to choose our families, but we can choose our friends and who we want to be with. By choosing re-enacting, I been lucky to choose the finest group of people in the world. No other hobby has brought me the joy, pleasure and fun. We have church services that give me more inspiration, love and hope than I have heard in modern churches. There is something for everyone of all ages.
To find out who I am, you will need to join the 23Rd regiment. Not only will you find out who I am, but also how I got my handle
