Directions To Brattonsville Mcconnells, South Carolina Near Rock Hill, South Carolina From the North. At Rock Hill, take exit 82b off of Interstate 77 onto Hwy 21 south. You’ll go through town. Stay on 21 Business, do not take 21 Bypass. This also known as Cherry Road (becomes South Cherry Rd). At Oakland Avenue, Hwy 21 turns – go straight across onto Hwy 322. You will still be on South Cherry Rd. South Cherry Rd becomes McConnells Hwy after it crosses Heckle Blvd. After several miles on 322 / McConnells Hwy you will cross Hwy 324. After about 2.5 miles turn left on to Brattonsville Road. There should be a brown sign at the turn. The historic Brattonsville site will be about a mile on the right. Hightower Hall is about half a mile on the left. Directions from the South. From Interstate 77 take exit 65 west onto Hwy 9. Go about a quarter mile and turn right on to Hwy 909. Hwy 909 will have two “blind” turns. The first will be at a T in the road at Hwy 121/72. Turn right. Go 50 yards and turn left on to 909, there should be a sign. You will immediately cross train tracks. The second is several miles down. For this stretch 909 is Aaron Burr Road. It will turn to the right without notice. If you fail to turn, you’ll be on Henry road. (If this happens, turn right on Darby road (Hwy 190) and it will become Brattonsville road.) Turn right on to Brattonsville Road. It could be labeled Darby Road or Hwy 190. All my mapping programs say Darby Rd, but I distinctly remember the sign here saying Brattonsville Rd. The turn is just before the Chester Municipal Airport. There is a brown sign for Oliphant Lake Landing right before the turn. After a couple of miles, go straight across at a stop sign at Chappell Road. The event site is several miles down. It could be on the left or right depending on where the camp site is. The historic Brattonsville site is on the left. Hightower Hall is another mile or so on the right.
